Elon student robbed at gunpoint off campus
Three males robbed an Elon University student at gunpoint at 2:30 a.m. Feb. 1 on Trollinger Street near Trollinger Apartments. The weapon was a handgun.
Though the student was not physically harmed, he was unable to report the incident immediate because his phone was taken from him, according to an email sent by Smith Jackson, vice president and dean of Student Life. The Town of Elon Police are investigating the incident.
In his email, Jackson encouraged all Elon students to walk in pairs when possible and remain aware of their surroundings at all times. He reminded students to call the Campus Security Escort Service or E-Rides when in need of a ride on or off campus.
