According to a tweet from The Blue Crew, former Elon University linebacker Joshua Jones has been invited to the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars rookie mini-camp for a tryout.

The Blue Crew, which cites itself as “24/7 coverage of the Wharton Wildcats,” tweeted this Saturday night:

Jones helped Wharton High School, located in Tampa, Fla., to a district title during his career there and led the Wharton defense to a No. 1 ranking in Hillsborough County.

Jones was named first-team all-Southern Conference by the media and second-team all-SoCon by the coaches following his senior season, in which he racked up a team-leading 112 tackles, including 17 tackles for loss and four sacks. He finished his career with Elon as the program’s fifth-leading tackler all-time with 343 tackles.
